Isadora Tutorials: Actors

An ACTOR is the most basic building block in Isadora. For example:

In the above Isadora SCENE there are 4 actors and each one has a specific ROLE. Actors interact with one another through virtual connections which are made between input and output parameters. Some actors, such as the Keyboard Watcher Actor have both input and output parameters; some actors such as the Send Note Actor only have input parameters.

Actors are arrange in eight GROUPS or FAMILIES according to their related capabilities:

	Here are a few of the Actors in the MIDI Group.
	Here are the Actors in the Mouse/Keyboard Group.

To place an Actor in a Scene:

1. select one of the Groups
2. click ONCE on the Actor
3. move the cursor to the Scene area
4. click the mouse again to place the Actor
