System
Monitoring
The
EC server and the EC workstations are for the use of authorized users
only. Individuals using this server and/or workstations without authority,
or in excess of their authority, are subject to having all of their
activities monitored and recorded by EC personnel. In the course of
monitoring individuals improperly using the EC and its server, or
in the course of system maintenance, the activities of authorized
users may also be monitored. Anyone using the EC and its server expressly
consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring
reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, system personnel may
provide the evidence of such monitoring to law enforcement officials.
The
software on the workstations of the EC is for use in the EC ONLY!
The licence(s) for the software is for use on the 31 classroom machines.
Therefore, none of the software may be copied for personal use either
to disks, recordable media, or to the EC server. Any user violating
this policy will be warned. If the further violations occur the offender
will be reported to the proper university authorities. For a complete
description of the various software types and the copyright regulations
that are associated with them, consult the Computer Center document:
The Ethical and Legal Use of Software.
All
workstations in the Lab are "cloned" at irregular intervals.
Consequently, there is no guarantee that any files you have saved
on individual workstations will still be there the next time you visit
the Lab. Make backup copies of all your important files and keep them
with you in a safe place. Failure to make backup copies of assignments,
projects, exams, etc. will not be constitute a legitimate excuse for
late or missed assignments and may result in a lowered grade.
Please
do not enter the classroom during scheduled class times unless you
are registered for that class. This facility is primarily a classroom.
The room is open for walk-in lab time during the posted times. A schedule
will be posted outside the entrance to the classroom.
